Problem-solving plays a critical role in the education of all K-12 mathematics students. However, knowing how to incorporate problem-solving into a curriculum and daily instruction remains challenging for many teachers. During this professionally recorded 1-day workshop participants learned how to make problem-solving and critical thinking part of their everyday teaching through the use of problem-based anchor tasks and meaningful discourse. They learned to differentiate problems and tasks to meet the needs of their increasingly diverse classrooms.
The mathematical content was be based on the 6-8 Common Core State Standards and included fractions, integers, algebra, and geometry.
